A Boeing presentation solved at Cisco’s San Jose headquarters became the foundation for Cisco Studio 2.0 worldwide.
01 / Project brief
Cisco’s ReflectMedia system used a bright green ring around the lens and a reflective silver background. The light was uncomfortable for presenters and made natural, convincing lighting difficult.
Before a C-suite presentation to Boeing, Cisco needed two engineers to appear inside a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with its blue and purple interior lighting. The office room also lacked the permanent overhead, camera, rack, monitoring, and operator infrastructure needed for daily studio use.
JAZ temporarily replaced ReflectMedia with a conventional green screen and matched RGBW fixtures to a Boeing reference image. Boeing representatives believed the presentation had been filmed inside an aircraft. The presentation helped Cisco secure a $40 million agreement with Boeing.
JAZ then rebuilt the office as a permanent broadcast studio with overhead support, controlled surfaces, production lighting, cameras, confidence monitors, equipment racks, cabling, and an operator position. Its standards became the foundation for Studio 2.0 locations worldwide.
